Walk 6-5: Sunset on Cairnsmore of Fleet

Something new this year – and evening walk up the iconic Cairnsmore of Fleet to watch the sun set

Starting and finishing near the A75 at Muirfad the walk through the estate is gentle with carpets of spring flowers. We will follow the well known path onto the summit of Cairnsmore of Fleet (711 metres) to enjoy a beautiful sunset with 360 degree panoramic views. 

The long summer evenings which we enjoy in Galloway mean that the first section of the walk will be in day light, with sunset not until around 9.20pm. However, torches will be required to enjoy the descent via the public path as darkness will have fallen by then.
