Walk 4-3: Supper Walk: Glenlee to Dalry (Moderate)

This afternoon walk explore the Glenlee and Garroch estates in the Glenkens, and then climbs Waterside Hill before finishing the evening with a wonderful meal at a local hotel.

Our walk starts at the north entrance of Glenlee Estate, taking us through the wooded glen alongside spectacular waterfalls.  Thereafter we cross into Garroch Estate via open fields and tracks offering extensive views of the Upper Glenkens.

Our route then heading further up the glen to join the Southern Upland Way which then tracks over Waterside Hill, to provide lovely views towards our destination at St John’s Town of Dalry.  We follow the path down through the newly planted woodlands past Earlstoun power station, with its fish ladder tumbling down beside the path, and continue along the river to the town.

The hotel is offering us a 3 course meal for £25 (payable on the day). The menu will be available closer to the time.
