Walk 4-3: Supper Walk: Glenlee to Dalry (Moderate)

**SORRY - THIS WALK IS FULLY BOOKED ** This afternoon walk explore the Glenlee and Garroch estates in the Glenkens, and then climbs Waterside Hill before finishing the evening with a wonderful meal at a local hotel.

Our walk starts at the north entrance of Glenlee Estate, taking us through the wooded glen alongside spectacular waterfalls.  Thereafter we cross into Garroch Estate via open fields and tracks offering extensive views of the Upper Glenkens.

Our route then heading further up the glen to join the Southern Upland Way which then tracks over Waterside Hill, to provide lovely views towards our destination at St John’s Town of Dalry.  We follow the path down through the newly planted woodlands past Earlstoun power station, with its fish ladder tumbling down beside the path, and continue along the river to the town.

The hotel is offering us a 3 course meal for £25 (payable on the day).

* Galloway Chicken: Chicken Breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon, served on neeps and tatties with seasonal vegetables and a mushroom and whisky sauce

* Gammon Steak (Gluten Free): Served with two eggs, chunky chips and seasonal vegetables 

* Poached Salmon (Vegetarian):  In a creamy white wine, spring onion, leek and spinach sauce, served with new potatoes and green beans

* Pancetta Carbonara: Made with fresh farm eggs and parmesan the Italian way

* Mushroom Carbonara (Vegetarian): Made with fresh farm eggs and parmesan the Italian way
