This challenging route uses the Awfu’ Hand to capture no fewer than two Corbetts and five Donalds in a day and will provide a day that will last long in the memory.
Starting at Stinchar Bridge, height is steadily gained to reach the Corbett of Shalloch on Minnoch (768 metres). Tarfessock Hill is followed by Kirriereoch onto the Little Spear with a steep ascent onto the highest summit in Galloway, the Merrick at 843 metres.
The descent follows the tourist path down to Loch Trool via Benyellary (719 metres).
Only those with good hill experience and high levels of fitness should consider this walk.
