The distinctive turreted and castellated Kirkandrews Church is the starting point of this route. It was built by James Brown who moved to Knockbrex in 1900 and created a little kingdom of architectural curiosities which can be viewed along the way.
The intriguing 'Coo Palace' is next on the list as the walk skirts the edges of the shore following the coast of Fleet Bay and passing the isles of Barlocco and Ardwall. Skirting Knockbrex Castle the track eventually arrives at Sandgreen.
Here the route turns inland and enters the Cally Woods where there are primroses and bluebells, red squirrels and tree creepers to watch for as the path leads on to the town of Gatehouse of Fleet where supper awaits.
